Our Application Process

If something is feeling right about KapKa, that's a good sign. Coming to visit is the first step — it's how you see how the school actually comes alive with teachers and kids. We'd love to have you.

Meet Us

Tours run November through February during the school day. Open Houses are November 15 & January 24 — bring the whole family.

Apply

Applications due January 15 (January 31 if you're attending the January Open House). Financial Aid applications due February 6.

Student Visit

K–1 students visit February 7 or March 7. Grades 2–5 are scheduled individually so we can get to know your child.

Decisions

Enrollment offers go out March 20. Families have until March 27 to respond. Then — welcome to KapKa.

Tours

See the school in action, speak with the head of school, and attend a Q&A with teachers. Tours run November through February during the school day. Tours are adults-only (babes-in-arms welcome). Relocating from outside Seattle? Reach out via our inquiry form.

Open Houses

Bring the whole family. Walk through the school, meet all the teachers, and talk with current parents and alumni. Two Saturdays each year, 10:30am–Noon. This year: November 15 and January 24.

Apply

Our application gives us a window into who your child is. You'll share: a sample of their work (for younger kids, this could be a drawing, video of a song, or story pictures), and contact info for two references (ideally someone who's worked with your child in a group setting).

Kindergarten: Children must be 5 by September 1st of the applying school year.
Grades 1-5: We encourage families to apply, but space may be limited. Check available spots through our inquiry form.
Current-year enrollment: Applying for this school year? Complete the full process including student visit by January 1st.

Financial Aid

KapKa has one of the lowest independent school tuition levels in the area. Many of our families receive financial aid. When in doubt, apply.
